A floor drain with a water trap keeps sewer gases and bacteria in the pipes only, but only if the drain is clean and working properly. If the water trap dries out, impurities can enter the indoor air from the drain.
Clean the floor drain regularly and place a Floor Drain Filter under the cover. This way, hair and debris stay out of the water trap and the drain remains clean.
How to clean the bathroom floor drain
We recommend wearing protective gloves when cleaning the floor drain.
-
Open the floor drain cover with for example, a flat screwdriver.
-
Before the first use, clean the floor drain thoroughly with a Detail Brush or Dish Brush and remove all hair clumps leading into the pipes.
- Place the Floor Drain Filter on the edges of the floor drain.
- Close the cover so that the pull tab remains visible either under the outer edge of the cover or between the grates. Put the cover back in place.
Replacing the floor drain filter is easy. Grab the pull tab, remove the old filter, and put a new one in place.
