Replace Your Microfiber Mop Head Regularly
When mopping, it's best to use separate mop heads for the kitchen and bathroom, as bacteria can otherwise be transferred from one room to another. Replacement microfiber mop heads are available for all SINI mops, and it's a good idea to keep several on hand so you can change them whenever needed.
Replace your mop regularly - even the best cleaning tools won't last forever. How often you need a new mop depends on how frequently it's used, but we recommend replacing it at least once a year.
How to Wash a Microfiber Mop in the Washing Machine
For the most hygienic cleaning results, wash your microfiber mop regularly in the washing machine. During cleaning, the mop collects dirt, sand, and debris that can scratch your floors the next time you use it. If the mop isn't washed, bacteria, mould, and yeast can begin to grow over time. Simply rinsing or shaking it out isn't enough - wash the microfiber mop at 60°C after every cleaning session.
Microfiber mops can withstand dozens of washes when cared for properly.
- Use a laundry bag if you're washing the mop together with other laundry. Microfiber attracts lint, dust, and fibres very effectively, even inside the washing machine. If washed with dirty socks or similar items, loose fibres may end up embedded in the mop.
- Remove dust and hair before washing. Dry and damp mopping collects a lot of dust and hair. Brush the mop over a waste bin before placing it in the washing machine.
- Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Regular laundry detergent is all you need.
Tip!
When storing your SINI Multipurpose Mop, leave either the microfiber mop or the padding attached to the frame. This helps protect the hook-and-loop fasteners on the underside of the frame from dust and hair.
