Mopping doesn’t have to be time-consuming – with the right tools and technique, it can be both quick and effective!
You’ll need:
- Mop set (frame + handle)
- Microfiber mop suitable for the surface, e.g. for universal, laminate, or tiled floors
-
Floor cleaner, preferably in spray form
💡 Tip: Always start mopping from the farthest corner of the room and work your way toward the door. That way, you won’t step on the freshly cleaned floor!
Wooden floors
For wooden floors, the mop should be lightly damp, not wet. It’s best to spray the floor cleaner directly onto the microfiber mop.
Move the mop along the direction of the wood grain – otherwise, dust and dirt can get stuck in the grooves.
Remember to rinse or replace the microfiber pad during cleaning so you remove dirt instead of just moving it around.
👉 A smart tip: keep several clean microfiber pads ready!
Tiled floors
Use a mop that is suitable for tile surfaces.
Spray the floor cleaner directly onto the mop – you can be a bit more generous here since tiles can handle more moisture.
Let your hand glide along the mop handle as you clean to avoid awkward postures.
For tiled floors, it often works best to move the mop in a figure-eight motion, which makes cleaning both effective and ergonomic.
