80% of our products are made in Finland

We prioritize Finnish craftsmanship, with approximately 80% of our products manufactured in our own factories in Kokemäki and Akaa. We also favor local suppliers for subcontracting whenever possible. Producing in Finland allows us greater flexibility and quick delivery times, enabling us to respond effectively to demand spikes caused by changes in weather, for example. The remaining products are made in Europe (16%) and Asia (4%), where we require our partners to have at least BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certification, and preferably BEPI (Business Environmental Performance Initiative) certification as well.

The Avainlippu symbol represents Finnish origin.

As a testament to our Finnish origin, the majority of our products proudly bear the Avainlippu symbol, signifying quality craftsmanship made in Finland. This emblem has been awarded to Sinituote by The Finnish Work Association, recognizing our commitment to local labor, responsibility, and Finnish expertise. The Association also oversees the use of this registered mark.

The Avainlippu can be granted to products or services with a domestic content of at least 50%, depending on the industry. Since 1965, the Avainlippu has helped consumers and businesses make responsible choices

Carbon Neutral Production

Environmental Responsibility is important to us, and our operations aim for sustainable development from product manufacturing to their extended lifespan. Not a single piece of waste from SINI's factory is sent to a landfill instead, 100,000 kg of waste per year is sorted into 17 collection points, where it is then sent for recycling and recovery. We also make use of any plastic surplus from our production.

Using recycled plastic reduces emissions.

In corporate emissions reporting, Scope 1, 2, and 3 classifications are used. Scope 1 emissions are direct emissions that originate from sources owned or controlled by the company or organization. Scope 2 emissions are indirect emissions resulting from the production of purchased energy consumed by the company, such as electricity, heating, and cooling. In 2022, we calculated our Scope 3 emissions for the first time, which are the indirect emissions generated within our supply chain. Since then, we have been systematically working to reduce Scope 3 emissions, for example, by increasing the use of recycled plastic. In 2023, we succeeded in reducing Scope 3 emissions by 15%.
